About PQCClear
The padlock icon for post-quantum trust.
The browser padlock didn’t earn your trust by explaining TLS to you. It earned it by being checkable at a glance, by anyone, at any time. Post-quantum readiness doesn’t have that symbol yet. A score can tell a vendor where they stand today; it can’t tell a bank, an examiner, or a customer that it is still true next quarter. We built the credential that can.
What we do
The assessment loop is commoditized. The credential is not.
PQCClear is a post-quantum cryptography (PQC) readiness assessment and certification platform built for the banks, credit unions, and payment processors that make up the fintech ecosystem. Quantum-capable computers threaten today’s cryptography, and regulators, from FFIEC and NCUA guidance in the United States to DORA in the European Union, are moving to require institutions to know their exposure and their vendors’ exposure well before that threat materializes.
Every part of that assessment loop, scanning code, generating a Cryptographic Bill of Materials, scoring a vendor’s posture, is now available from several vendors, open source and commercial alike. We built PQCClear around the piece that market is missing: a persistent, expiring, publicly verifiable credential. The “PQC Verified” trust seal works the way a PCI-DSS badge or an SSL padlock does. It is a cert ID any bank or customer can look up, tied to a real assessment, that expires and has to be renewed to stay meaningful.

Self PQC
A self-serve certification path for vendors: a fixed questionnaire plus scanner validation produces the public PQC Verified trust seal, renewed every three months.

PQC Readiness Score
A weighted score across algorithm risk, data sensitivity, data longevity, crypto-agility, and exposure, built to be recalibrated as real assessment data accumulates, the way credit-rating models are.
Why we exist
We have nothing to gain from a lower score.
Half a dozen vendors can hand a bank a scan and a report. What none of them offer is a credential that outlives the moment it was generated: something a fintech vendor can put on its own site, that a bank’s TPRM team can look up independently, that expires on a schedule and has to be earned again.
That is the layer PQCClear is building, and it is the reason we stay strictly in the assessment lane. We don’t sell remediation. A company that scores your posture and then sells you the fix has a conflict of interest built into its business model. We would rather be the independent party a bank can trust precisely because we have nothing to gain from a lower score.
How we work
- 01Assessment only, never remediation.PQCClear scores and certifies. We do not sell the fix, so there is no incentive to find one.
- 02Banks always own their own assessment.A vendor’s Self PQC certification supplements a bank’s due diligence as verifiable context. It never substitutes for the bank’s own review.
- 03Ratings, not verdicts.Like Moody’s or S&P, we publish a score and let the reader interpret it, rather than a pass/fail badge that oversimplifies a nuanced posture.
- 04Ships flat, recalibrates with evidence. Our scoring model is versioned and revised on a defined cadence as real assessment data accumulates, not fixed at launch and left untouched.
Who we serve
The institutions that own vendor risk, and the vendors they onboard.
PQCClear is built for banks, credit unions, and payment processors across North America, the European Union, and Japan, and for the fintech vendors that serve them. If your institution needs to show an examiner a documented vendor quantum-readiness program, or your company needs a credential that proves your posture to the banks you sell into, this is what we built.
